Wolverine origin ebook link

Wolverine Origin

May isa pa pala. Iba pala yung Wolverine: Origins. Parang part 1 daw tong Origin. 6 files lahat.

http://www.savefile.com/projects.php?pid=921083

Well, after 30-plus years, the comic book fans of America finally have an origin to put to Wolverine. The artwork by Adam Kubert and Richard Isanove is absolutely wonderful. Kubert's sense of storytelling is second to none and Isanove's gorgeous, lush painted-colors process is something I'd love to see more often.

The tagline on the inside cover to "Origin" describes the book as "The greatest Marvel story never told." Many fans, for years, insisted that it never be told: the beginnings of the mysterious, likable X-Man Wolverine. When Joe Quesada and Bill Jemas took over and Marvel Comics and reversed its almost 15-year downturn, one of their first projects was "let's do a story on the origins of Wolverine." Considered sacred ground - untreadable because part of Wolvie's appeal was his unknown past - the project was reluctantly, and then vigorously, accepted, with top minds from the Marvel universe turning in treatments.
"Origin" is the gorgeous final result of that process.

Somewhere in the 19th Century, on a massive estate in Canada, a young boy called "Dog" Logan escapes his father's drunken beatings by playing with James, the sickly child of the rich landowner in the House, and Rose, James' Irish nanny. The three forge a childhood bond broken too easily when class distinctions and family squabbles get in the way of their friendship. One night, the tensions come to a head when the three, now adolescents, are involved in a life-changing tragedy that leaves one horribly scarred, another without a memory and in possession of strange new abilities, and the third frightened for all three. Two of the friends flee into the night, while the third is left to pick up the pieces.

A quote on the back of the book compares "Origin" with "Watchmen" and "Maus," and suggests it will enter the annals of comic-dom's highest-regarded works. While it doesn't measure up to those examples, or to "V for Vendetta" or "From Hell," "Origin" is certainly worthy of praise and deserves a place next to "The Killing Joke," or "Batman: Year One." Kubert's illustrations are mind-bogglingly beautiful, managing to combine the serious nature of the story with the comic origins of the players without effort. The only complaint, and it is minor, is that the book seems short compared with similar series efforts. The story is told without becoming overlong, but the reader can't help but feel it could have been deeper and more involved. Overall, "Origin" is worth its price, and the hardcover book preserves the fantastic art in a great coffee-table format. Wolvie and X-Men fans will want to read it - unless, of course, you would rather not spoil the mystery, which is perfectly understandable.

Final grade: B+

Tatiana and the pug puppy

Argh!

Puyat na naman kami ni Ann. Tagal na tulog si Tatiana. She keep on playing with us until 2am. I play his usual baby genius dvd para maka tulog, Ayaw pa rin.

He he he. Even if she sleep early, i will still be awake until 3am. Damn Internet. Its the main cause of my lack of sleep.

Another that is keeping me awake is the pup that i got as a puppy share. Its a pure pug. Sayang the mother has no PCCI registration papers. I never expected the bitch to get pregnant, because she is already old in terms of human years. Parts of her black mask has some white hair. I have to prepare milk for the puppy every 3 hours. It is just a little more than a month old. She is not weaned yet, that is why i had to bottle feed her. I also had to use a lactose free milk. Alagaan ko to. Sayang din. Its a pure pug. I could sell it for at least 10k-15k. Sige lang, in a few week i can sell her. Sayang tatiana really loves her.

Also last night over at Star Movie: Shall we dance. On the last part i dance with Tatiana. It seems that she likes to dance. He he he. Not the ballroom type. I think she likes hip-hop.

Mrs. Patricia Mercado Velez was born in August 25, 1896 in Carmen, Cagayan de Oro, Misamis Oriental , into the family of Zoilo Francisco Mercado and Pelagia Edmilao. She finished her primary education at the Carmen Primary School, her intermediate at the Misaamis Oriental Intermediate School, and her 2 year secondary at the Misamis Oriental High School (There were no third and fourth year classes at the time). During her school days, “Cocay”, as she is fondly called by relatives and close friends, distinguished herself as a soloist, debater and declaimer. She was appointed teacher at the Carmen Primary School in 1915 for the newly opened Grade I and II classes. In 1917 she was transferred to the Cagayan Central School to teach music.

Cocay became Mrs. Mariano A. Velez, Sr., also of Cagayan on Novemeber 29, 1917. The fruits of the blissful union are 5 children, all boys, namely,

She became president of Cagayan Women’s club and Peuriculture Center League of Misamis Oriental and Bukidnon in 1953-58, during which she along with other equally active club members were able to put up the Peuriculture Center Building and the Maternity Hospital. She also helped in putting up Peuriculture centers in such municipalities of Misamis Oriental as Opol, Balingoan, Talisayan, Balingasag, Kinoguitan, Salay, Alubijid, Initao, and Manticao.

She carved her name in the then town of Cagayan (now Cagayan de Oro City) when she was elected no. 1 councilor in 1938. Following the demise of then Mayor Julio Pacana, Cocay assumed the position of vice mayor after having been extended an appointment for the second top position of the town by the Late President Manuel L. Quezon in 1940. She is the only woman since then to have been elected to the municipal council. (As of 1972)

During the Second World War, the Velez family fled to the hills where they worked, hand in hand with the guerilla forces. The older boys, Plutarco and Homer joined with the guerrillas. Mrs. Patricia Velez was elected chairman of the committee of procurement in Talakag, Bukidnon, the guerilla headquarters. Her task involved the solicitation of foodstuffs, clothing, medicines, and other materials for the guerillas as well as the quartering of evacuees from the enemy sector. Harassed by the Japanese, the guerillas were routed from their stronghold. The Velez family trekked down to the seacoast barrio of Lourdes (Alubijid), Misamis Oriental, where Mrs. Velez was elected supervisor of the Women’s Auxiliary Services a procurement arm of the guerilla movement in the area.

Much of the humanitarian work of Mrs. Patricia M. Velez has been inspired by her husband, Mariano A. Velez., who was born on September 8 1887, into the family of Alejandro Velez y Roa and Petrona Castro. A self made man, he started as a pier hand at the age of 15 and later worked as a clerk and paymaster. He had his ABC training during the Spanish regime. In January, 1906, he was appointed municipal teacher and soon became the principal of the Cagayan Central School. In 1907, he was promoted temporary insular teacher. A year later, he hurdled the Filipino Teachers Examination and became a regular insular teacher. In 1911, he quit teaching to devote his time to farming, planting coconuts, rice and corn and ranching. He still is a farmer and a businessman to boot.

“Itoy, as his friends called him, was appointed councilor of the municipality of Cagayan by the Misamis Oriental provincial board in 1912. Having seen the former Patricia Mercado and having fallen in love with her, Itoy pursued her until she said yes in 1917. In 1925, he was elected municipal vice mayor of Cagayan and was re-elected in 1928. He was elected chairman four times of the local Nacionalista Party in different election years. He still is a Nationalista, although an open minded one.

During the Japanese Occupation, Itoy served the resistance movement as chairman of the hauling of military supplies from the seacoast to Talakag, Bukidnon, furnishing the guerillas with 10 working carabaos and 10 men weekly, risking his life several times. When liberation came, he was appointed military mayor of Cagayan, and during his brief tenure of the office, Itoy refused to receive any salary offered by the American PCAU and military authorities.

He has been a Mason since 1911. He is at present a member of the Cagayan de Oro Rotary Club and the Knight of Rizal. He is also the chairman of the Local chapter of the Coconut Planters Association, vice chairman of the provincial council of the Coconut Planters Association and member of the national board of directors of the Philippine Producers Federation

Israel

Israel

Some people does not appreciate what is currently happening in the Middle East today, specially on what is currently happening in Israel, Gaza and Lebanon. They don’t know that even if they are far away from the conflict they will eventually be affected.

Hey a few days ago the price of crude has shot up to $78 a barrel and has recently settle to $75 a barrel. If the tension will escalate, there could be a chance that the price will shut up to $100 a barrel. Shit. You could also add what is happening in Iran. Especially if Syria and Iran is drag into the conflict.

A funny thing happen between the meeting between GWB and VP. GWB has criticize Russia for its brand of democrary. Putin calmly reply “ We (Russia) would not want to have the democracy the US is promoting in Iraq.” You could hear the reporters laughting. You should also see the impression of Cedric the intertainer of GWB over at The Tonight Show. It was so true and funny. He was explaining and acting out GWB. GWB almost always appear surprised when appearing in TV.

Fiesta

Fiesta

Yesterday was the fiesta here at Barangay Carmen, Cagayan de Oro City. Actually, we don’t really celebrate the fiesta like usual way today. Dili mi ga fiesta, kami ang ga-pang fiesta sa uban. He he he.

My dad abhors people who spend stravagantly for fiesta. Some people would sometimes borrow money just for them to celebrate. I also notice that the purpose of a fiesta has been kind of distorted. Not its all about food and alcohol. I fact in most fiesta you will see a lot of drunk people. As a result there are a lot of fighting. In our zone alone there has been 4 fights. Some also got shot and died (may have been shot by a distant relative), for making trouble. Is this the real reason why fiesta’s are celebrated. From what I know it is supposed to give thanks for the blessings that we have. The real purpose have been bastardize.

Cholesterol Filled Night

Shit the puwit my high blood pressure. (Which i have not check for sometime already). We had a cholesterol filled night. At the night cafe (Divisoria, Cagayan de Oro, every Saturday and Sunday), we had a special Humba with hard boilded egg, sisig, siki and lechon kawali.

Just by looking at it makes me feel that my arteries are clogging up. The sisig (chopped pork face, with onion and chopped liver), it was not that good. They chopped it in big chunks. I prefer the one with smaller chunks and a bit on the crispy side. Just like the traditional pampanga sisig or the one at Trellis, Quezon City.

The siki, masarap ang sabaw. I could see the sebo on the top of the soup stock. CHOLESTEROL. Masarap na CHOLESTEROL.

Teka bakit pala masarap ang bawal.

It was the Humba/adobo that surprised me. They added something to the original/traditional recipe. I think it has star anise in it. It kind of taste like beef pares.

The funny thing was that we had to eat fast because it was starting to rain on us. I forgot to mention that we were dining in the city party al fresco.

Pug Puppy share

2 days ago, i got my puppy share. The father is Bruno my pure pug stud. He has 18 red marks in his PCCI registration papers. Some of his fore parents are Philippine, Canadian and American Champions.

It turns out that the owner turned over the pup too early. Shit the pup has not yet been weaned yet. I had to bottle feed the pup every 3 hours. It has a big appetite for a small thing. Shit the puwit. And to think that i did not bottle feed my own daughter but i bottle feed this cute think. (Hey, my daughter is still cut.)

He he he. Sayang din. I had sell the cute thing before i get too attached. I could get at least 10-12 thousand. It is a pure pug, however the mother has no PCCI registration papers. If it has registration paper, i will be able to sell it for at least 15 thousand.

Cagayan de Oro Water District Bill

Nakaka-asar gyud ning COWD. Sayo kaayo mag read sa meter tapos dugay kaayo mag hatud sa up to date na water bill. And then they would only give you 5 days to pay up. NOt like, sa CEPALCO which give you 15 days to settle the bill. DAmn. Shit talaga. Tapos if you are late you had to pay a 10% sur-charge. Another shit. Parang nag pa 5/6.

Sigma Rho Fraternity Central and Northern Mindanao Fellowship

Last Friday, July 7, 2006, members of the Sigma Rho Central and Northern Mindano held a fellowship at Candy's Restaurant at Lim Ket Kai Mall Cagayan de Oro City.

This is the second fellowship that was organized by Lanao Sur Provincial Prosecutor Atty Aquil Tamano. Among the attendees was me (Titus Velez), Philhealth Assistant Vice President GA Datu Masiding Alonto, incumbent IBP president Atty Joel Cadiz, Aquil Tamano and Atty Jovy Bernabe (an IBP officer). There was another brod but i did not get his name. I was already drunk early on. San Miguel were flowing and the food at Candy was very good. We also have an important visitor who dropped by in the name of Misamis Oriental Governor Oscar Moreno (a Bedan). The assistant of Ding Alonto was also with us si Waway. It turn out that he is also a brother DeMolay from Iligan city.

A wife of a lawyer gave us a layer of cake. He were laughing because mahirap mag pulutan nang cake (white chocolate). In fairness naman, masarap ang cake. Si Candy (the owner) Lu studied at Cordon Blue. She is a cousin of another brod, Brian James Hao Lu of Cotabato/General Santos.

Speaking of Candy's you should try its cakes. I would recomend the baby back ribs, dehins puwede si Ding at Aquil nito. Its what i had the night before the fellowship. My niece had the porkchops. Hey its a bit expensive but one serving is good enought for 2 people. Sulit na rin. It would be haram for them. We had the Spinach pizza which was surprisingly very good. The gambas with olive oil and button mushroom sarap. The last 2 puwede sila Ding and Aquil.
