Fiesta
Yesterday was the fiesta here at Barangay Carmen, Cagayan de Oro City. Actually, we don’t really celebrate the fiesta like usual way today. Dili mi ga fiesta, kami ang ga-pang fiesta sa uban. He he he.
My dad abhors people who spend stravagantly for fiesta. Some people would sometimes borrow money just for them to celebrate. I also notice that the purpose of a fiesta has been kind of distorted. Not its all about food and alcohol. I fact in most fiesta you will see a lot of drunk people. As a result there are a lot of fighting. In our zone alone there has been 4 fights. Some also got shot and died (may have been shot by a distant relative), for making trouble. Is this the real reason why fiesta’s are celebrated. From what I know it is supposed to give thanks for the blessings that we have. The real purpose have been bastardize.
